As the Bitcoin halving event is coming near, the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter, Ben Askren, decided to <a href="https://twitter.com/benaskren" target="_blank" rel="noopener">promote</a> it by changing the name of his Twitter account. Askren who is also popular as Bitcoin bull, recently, edited his Twitter handle’s display name to “Bitcoin Halving May 13”. The UFC fighter has over 311,000 followers on Twitter.
<h2>Ben Askren To “Bitcoin Halving May 13” On Twitter </h2>
The display name and date on Askren’s account indicates to the upcoming halving event which is going to take place in just 36 days.

During this halving event, when the blocks would reach to 630,000 then rewards will be generated. Presently, the block reward is 12.5 BTC, but after having it would reduce to 6.25 BTC.

The mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter is fond of digital assets, therefore, he never leaves a chance to promote the cryptocurrency. On most occasions, Askren uses his Twitter handle to endorse digital assets and inform people that he has bought more BTCs.
<h2>UFC Backs Cryptocurrencies</h2>
Askren has also been a paid partner of Litecoin (LTC). In January 2019, The former UFC fighter admitted that Litecoin Foundation sponsored him for UFC 235. Later, he started posting his pictures on Instagram, wearing a T-shirt which belonged to Litecoin.

According to a report, recently, UFC organised an event and league while collaborating with Dapper Labs, which was watched by around five million people around the world. In the event, the Dapper Labs introduced new digital UFC-branded collectables.

Dapper Labs is the company that launched a blockchain game CryptoKitties.

The report further mentioned that in the year 2015, for the first time UFC used Bitcoin to pay Jon Fitch the MMA fighter.

Although, since a very long time the UFC has been supporting crypto, presently, because of the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemics, like many other companies the club also decided to shut many of its events.
