Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s vice prime minister and minister of digital transformation announced yesterday that the government is now accepting donations in the meme-based cryptocurrency Dogecoin. He even gave a shout-out to the DOGE co-creator Billy Markus and Tesla CEO Elon Musk asking for a contribution.

At the time of writing, the Dogecoin address posted by Fedorov has <a href="https://blockchair.com/dogecoin/address/DS76K9uJJzQjCFvAbpPGtFerp1qkJoeLwL" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">received</a> more than <span class="account-hash__balance__values"><span class="value-wrapper d-iflex ai-center"><span class=""><span class="wb-ba">496,814</span></span></span></span> DOGE, worth over $65,000.

A day earlier, Federov tweeted about a project called Aid For Ukraine, a collaboration between the Ukrainian government and Everstake a Solana-based crypto project to raise funds in Solana cryptocurrency.

Meanwhile, decentralized crypto exchange Uniswap has now built a function that allows people to convert any Ethereum-based digital currencies into the ether (ETH) and send it to the Ukrainian government.

On Wednesday, Ukraine's official Twitter account confirmed an 'airdrop', scheduled to take place today. However, details of it remain unclear as to what digital currency would be given away and to whom.
