Late on Wednesday, a federal judge <a href="https://twitter.com/fund_defi/status/1580370712573128705">determined</a> that two groups of cryptocurrency advocates could raise the argument that the <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/cftc-commissioner-visits-ripple-offices-as-sec-case-judgement-approaches">Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)</a> would not be allowed to assist DAO members through a website assistance bot. <h2>US Judge Permits to File Amicus Briefs</h2>
LeXpunK Army, a collective of attorneys and software engineers, and the DeFi Education Fund (DEF), a lobby organization, were given permission to submit amicus arguments, also known as friends of the court papers, by U.S. District Judge William Orrick of the Northern District of California. In their request to join the case, the two parties contended that, instead of serving the <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/temple-dao-users-to-receive-compensation-following-2-3-million-hack">DAO</a> directly through a website chat bot, the CFTC should locate and personally serve the Ooki DAO defendants in a complaint alleging that they violated federal law.
<h2>CFTC Accuses Ooki DAO Of  Illegal Offerings</h2>
Last month, the CFTC filed a lawsuit against Ooki DAO, alleging that, like its predecessor business, bZeroX, the collective group marketed unlicensed leveraged and margin trading products. The regulator was able to reach an agreement with the founders of the firm over the bZeroX costs. However, it cannot determine the primary participants connected to the DAO. As a result, it requested permission to serve the DAO through posts on forums and chatbots. The CFTC also asserted controversially that each voting member of the DAO should be held responsible for illegal activities.

Recently, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) filed a complaint against Adam Todd, the founder, and CEO of <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/cftc-sues-digitex-futures-exchange-and-ceo-for-increased-crypto-price">Digitex LLC</a>, for failing to register the company's crypto futures exchange and affecting the price of its DGTX coin. Todd allegedly exaggerated the value of DGTX tokens to raise Digitex's holdings, not to make a profit from each transaction but instead to raise the token's price and, consequently, the exchange's ownership. Todd made multiple mentions of the live stream activities in the lawsuit, according to a court filing submitted on September 30 in the Southern District of Florida.
