The United States’ Rand Corporation, in partnership with the University of Denver and the Police Executive Research Forum released a report that scrutinizes criminal aspects of the dark web.Mostly <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/crypto/dark-web-cyber-criminals-trading-bitcoin-for-12-us-dollar-cents/">activities</a> in the dark web are difficult to discover, monitor or even be investigated by law enforcement. .
<h2>Dark web provides level of anonymity by using crypto</h2>
Law enforcement practitioners and researchers identified upto 46 possible solutions during the workshop, where the report was compiled. The solutions were a means for training law enforcement, sharing information across jurisdictions, investigating shortcomings and gaps in existing web laws.
Regards to the cryptocurrencies, Think Tank found that the anonymity of the dark would present significant challenges to investigators and law enforcement.
<h2>Bitcoin, Litecoin and Monero in the Dark Web</h2>
Especially given that cryptocurrencies provided malinteded users with a high level of anonymity. In fact the report singled out Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin(LTC) and Monero (XMR).
On the other hand the report further highlights the large number of legitimate crypto users, would also increase the difficulty for law enforcement agencies ; in properly filtering out between the trade of illicit products and legitimate products. 
Participants during the workshop identified that current methods for apprehending dark web suspects hugely relied on traditional techniques. Which, according to the report, most officers are already aware of. 
<h2>Information Sharing and Enforcement Training</h2>
The two main findings from the report were that increasing investment for training and improving information sharing across agencies; both within the United States and across borders would; significantly improve investigation of the dark web.

Nonetheless, Investigative and law enforcement agencies are looking for better way to curb; prevalent occurrences of cyber attacks, hacking and dark web transactions.
