AS Monaco, a professional football club based in Monaco that competes in Ligue 1, the top tier of French football, has announced a partnership with Chiliz, a global blockchain provider for the sports industry, to create new Fan Tokens that will be unveiled via fan engagement and reward app Socios.com.
The $ASM Fan Token's debut date, as well as the price and amount of tokens released, will be announced "shortly," according to the club.
Holders of Fan Tokens will be able to vote in polls, receive VIP prizes, participate in unique promotions, and use AR-enabled features, games, and competitions. The tokens can be traded.
The $ASM Fan Token will let AS Monaco fans participate in games, competitions, and quizzes where they may compete against other fans from around the world in global leader boards. It will also give access to AS Monaco club-related content and Socios.com's geolocation-based augmented reality (AR) feature 'Token Hunt,' as well as the possibility to earn real-life and digital club-related incentives and bonuses.
Furthermore, Socios.com will become a part of AS Monaco's "total digital communications strategy," with the goal of assisting the club in growing its social media profile.
Socios.com has partnered with over 100 major sporting organizations, including FC Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Napoli, AS Roma, Valencia, Manchester City, and Arsenal, as well as leading European football teams Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), FC Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Napoli, AS Roma, Valencia, Manchester City, and Arsenal.
PSG became the first sports team to join Socios.com in 2018. When Lionel Messi moved from FC Barcelona to PSG in August, the French club announced that part of his "welcome package" would be paid in $PSG Fan Tokens.
