Akon, the billionaire American singer, has <a href="https://www.prweb.com/releases/ke_international_awarded_us_6_billion_construction_contract_for_akon_city_senegal/prweb17165260.htm" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">recently</a> got one step ahead to build up ‘Akon City’. Akon City is a concept to build up a futuristic crypto city, which he calls his dream city outside Dakar. He has recently received a contract from KE International which is a consulting and engineering firm based in the U.S. 

Back in January, Akon got an agreement signed to form his dream city in Senegal and now this recent contract is indicating development in-formation for the city.

It has been revealed that KE International has received $4 billion investment from the investors which are for the execution of both the first and second phase of this crypto city.
<h2>Google Maps indicates two spots as Akon City</h2>
As Akon city has been on headlines for quite some time now, it could be seen on google maps as well. The maps indicate two different spots for the city in which one is in Dakar and another one is Thiés region. However, there is no official clarification on this matter till now and it is yet to be seen where this city will be located.

It has also been revealed that the developers are expecting to complete Phase 1 of the Akon city by the end of 2023. In phase 1, the construction of hospitals, malls, residences, hotels, police stations and a lot more things will be completed. While phase 2 of the city is expected to be completed from 2024 to 2029 which will complete the full development of the city.
<h2>The city will run on AKOIN cryptocurrency </h2>
AKOIN is a cryptocurrency by Akon and it has been specified by him that Akon city will run on this cryptocurrency only. The investment for the city has been received from various healthcare and technology infrastructure leaders. The tourism agency named SAPCO will also be the co-development partner of the city which will be looking after the complete tourism element of this city. According to the government of President Macky Sall, the city will be counted as a special tax zone and it will be given several tax breaks also in order to encourage the investment.
