The Australian Labor Party recently outlined its plans for <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/glossary#cryptocurrency">cryptocurrency</a> legislation three months after being voted to office. An inquiry report from the Senate last year on "Australia as a Technology and Financial Center" included a suggestion from one of the 12 recommendations given by <a href="https://jimchalmers.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Treasurer Jim Chalmers</a> on "token mapping." In a statement from Minister for Financial Services Stephen Jones, Treasurer Jim Chalmers, Assistant Treasurer, and Assistant Minister for Competition, Charities and Treasury Andrew Leigh, the government led by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese claims it intends to control a "largely unregulated" cryptocurrency sector.
