Led by Peter Thiel’s <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/valar-ventures-lead-series-a-funding-round-of-bitpanda/">Valar Ventures</a>, British hedge fund manager Alan Howard, REDO Ventures, LeadBlock Partners, and Jump Capital also invested in the participating round.

The funding comes just months after the company became the first unicorn company in Austria at $1.2 billion. With its current valuation, the fintech startup is valued more than three times its earlier private financing round 5-months ago.

In addition to cryptocurrencies, the platform also lets users invest in precious metals like gold, silver, and <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/bitpanda-goes-beyond-crypto-launches-stocks-trading/">stocks</a>. This comes as a convenience for investors making the best of both worlds without the hassles of multiple platforms.


Despite the diversification, a Bitpanda spokesperson reiterates that crypto trading remains “the preferred choice” as its stocks trading product is still in beta:

The digital investment platform boasts over 3 million users and reports of being in line with achieving a 6x customer growth rate year over year, resulting in a 7 times revenue surge over the same period.
