Cardano (ADA) coins have reached an all-time high of $2.64 this morning, surpassing the previous high of $2.54 recorded on Friday. According to <a href="https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/cardano" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">CoinGecko </a>statistics, ADA is presently trading for $2.58, up 4.5% from yesterday.

Cardano is the <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/cardano-price-prediction-2021-2025-can-ada-cross-10-by-2025">native cryptocurrency</a> of the same blockchain project led by Ethereum co-founder Charles Hoskinson. 

On August 13, the altcoin surpassed Tether as the third-largest cryptocurrency, with a market worth of $82 billion. ADA is up 17% in the last week and 116% in the last month.

Cardano's price spike began in earnest on August 10, when Hoskinson "<a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/cardanos-alonzo-purple-public-testnet-goes-live/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">pre-announced</a>" the date when smart contracts will be incorporated on the platform as part of the Alonzo network update later this year. 

Three days after the “announcement of an announcement,” Input-Output, the development company behind ADA, <a href="https://twitter.com/InputOutputHK/status/1426182060683796483?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1426182060683796483%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fdecrypt.co%2F79003%2Fcardano-hits-new-all-time-high-charles-hoskinson-fights-off-critics" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">revealed </a>the date as September 12.
<h2>The Overall Market Worth Of Cryptocurrencies Has Once Again Hit $2 Trillion</h2>
Cardano <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/crypto-asset-management-firm-grayscale-introduces-cardano-support/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">earned </a>a significant boost last month when investment company Grayscale's Digital Large Cap Fund incorporated the asset in its portfolio. 

As of this writing, 4.26% of the fund is invested in ADA. Bitcoin accounts for 67.47% of the fund, with Ethereum accounting for 25.39%.

Other top-ten cryptocurrencies did not join Cardano in its celebration today. Bitcoin and Ethereum are down 0.7% and 1.5%, respectively, for the market.

Bitcoin edged closer to $50,000 Wednesday, reaching as high as $49,700. However, that price tag proved too difficult to overcome; the price was subsequently reduced to $48,800.

Overall, the Bitcoin market has recovered well from the spring collapse and summer downturn. The entire market capitalization of cryptocurrencies surpassed $2 trillion once more on Friday. While the rising figures evoke happy memories of spring, Cardano is enjoying the time of its life.
