ConsenSys, a huge blockchain firm, has launched a mobile application for MetaMask after four years. MetaMask is an Ethereum browser wallet and this will now be available for both Android and iOS devices. The users of the wallet will now be able to manage their crypto wallets right on their mobile devices. Along with this, it also gives a facility to store all the non-fungible tokens, play blockchain-powered games, and sign messages using the mobile application.
ConsenSys Believes MetaMask Mobile will Simplify the Process
MetaMask has been both developed and released by ConsenSys, having only Chrome and Firefox extension, ever since it has been launched. It is revealed that till now, the wallet has been downloaded for more than four million times. Now with the mobile wallet, the users will be able to import their complete transaction history from the desktop browser extension. This will be done by scanning the QR code.
ConsenSys believes that this MetaMask mobile app is there to simplify the whole process. The users from different countries will be able to purchase Ether directly through different payment methods on this mobile wallet. Dan Finlay, the founder of MetaMask has said that the firm is extremely excited to launch this mobile wallet. He also said that the users will be able to easily sync the app with their desktop accounts.
Built-in Web Browser to Strengthen the Security of Web3 Users
The beta version of MetaMask mobile wallet was launched by ConsenSys in 2019 and has received a user base of 135,000. It is specified by the firm that there will be a built-in web browser. It has been specially designed to strengthen the security of Web3 users. Through this browser, the users will be able to generate keys and passwords directly on their device. Joseph Lubin, founder of ConsenSys has said, “What smartphones have done for Web2, we believe MetaMask Mobile will do for Web3.”
