Whether it is something people fancy or not, but facebook's Libra project continues to make headlines and has been the most talked-about cryptocurrency in the last 1 year or so. The project has controversy, contradiction, conspiracy for some cynics and everything you don't want in a cryptocurrency that is yet to be launched.

The initial Libra project received a lot of backlashes, which made the company change its ways and listen to the regulatory bodies.  The new proposal launched a few days ago was far from convincing too so doors for Facebook's Libra still remain shut.

However, that has not stopped the community from discussing what would happen if it finally gets to see the sun one day.  The majority are debating about the impact it'd have on top cryptocurrency Bitcoin, who would definitely be its biggest competitor. Plenty of countries decided to come up with CBDC to tackle Facebook's Libra in its premature period only before it becomes a threat to the financial system.

Anthony Antonopoulos, a prominent bitcoin aficionado, has now joined the conversation and believes that the bitcoin community can rest assured that facebook's Libra and even the rising number of centralised cryptocurrencies are no threat to Bitcoin.  He believes that these new currencies lack the fabric and components to pose a threat to bitcoin or even have an overwhelming effect on it. He went on to add that Bitcoin is revolutionary, unmatched and decentralised, and these new cryptocurrencies are in no position to challenge the king coin in any way whatsoever, yet.
<h2>Facebook's Libra Should be of Least Concerned by Bitcoin, For Now</h2>
Earlier back in August 2019, he made similar <a href="https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5175152.0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claims </a>about the project and safe to say his opinion has not changed. Antonopoulos views about Facebook's Libra sounded a bit like a trash talk but for now, he's right. Facebook's Libra may change the landscape but only when it enters the game. For now, it appears like a distant dream, and before picking up who to rival, the project should fight for its survival and focus on getting launched in the first place.
