Cryptocurrencies such as Shiba Inu, Dogecoin, and other cryptocurrencies are now accepted at American video game retailer GameStop via digital payments network Flexa.
<h2>Shiba Inu, Dogecoin Now Accepted at GameStop Via Flexa</h2>
According to an announcement on Friday, Gemini-backed digital payments network Flexa has confirmed that video game retailer GameStop is back on its list of its supported merchants. In addition, Flexa has also added support for several metaverse-based cryptocurrencies such as Axie Infinity Shard (AXS), Smooth Love Potion (SLP), and Decentraland (MANA), and The Sandbox (<a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/the-sandbox-and-another-1-partner-to-create-a-phygital-product-store-to-onboard-the-sneakerheadz-society-tss-community-to-the-sandbox/">SAND</a>).

Earlier this week, Flexa announced that Shiba Inu coin (SHIB) is now integrated within its network, enabling SHIB holders to spend their tokens at more than 40,000 in-person locations across the U.S. and Canada, including Barnes and Noble, Bed Bath &amp; Beyond, Lowe’s hardware, Nordstrom, Office Depot, and Whole Foods Market.

SHIB joins a list of other major cryptocurrencies already supported by the Flexa platform, including Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, and Litecoin as well as stablecoins such as USD Coin and Gemini dollar among others. Earlier this month, the payment network also added support for Solana, LUNA, and Terra.

In addition, Regal Cinemas recently partnered with Flexa to enable moviegoers to pay with various cryptocurrencies, including BTC, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Ethereum, and Basic Attention Token.
<h2><strong>Merchants Receive Cash Payments Instead of Crypto</strong></h2>
Launched in 2019, the Flexa payment allows users to spend Bitcoin and several other cryptocurrencies at physical stores. Supermarket chain Whole Foods was initially on the list of supported merchants together with GameStop but both companies disappeared from the Spedn app later.

Merchants still receive in cash payments instead of crypto, with Flexa acting as an intermediary between them and crypto owners.  The platform uses its native AMP which works as collateral in order to be able to process instant payments. In case of an error, merchants receive staked AMP tokens that cover their losses. Currently, AMP is the 63rd largest token with a market capitalization of roughly $2 billion.
