Giving Block Brings Together Big Crypto Poker Names to Fight Covid-19
The crypto community is coming together like never before to fight against the Covid-19. Through multiple initiatives, the crypto space is trying to raise money to fight the coronavirus. The Giving Block has inked a partnership with a host of big names in the blockchain world to promote a campaign with the hashtag #CryptoCOVID19, which was started by Vitalik Buterin and Gitcoin.
But the scenario keeps worsening and the global lockdown looks set to prolong for more time, Alex Wilson of the Giving Block has stated they want to take the next step and do something more than just raising calls for donations and had created a live event for people to come to the forefront and donate according to their wills.
Poker Players Welcome the Initiative of The Giving BlockPoker players from cryptocurrency have been especially involved in the campaign, according to Wilson. The Giving Block was pretty successful in bringing some big guns from the crypto world quickly, including Litecoin's founder Charlie Lee, Charlie Shrem of bitcoin founder and Blockfolio CEO, Ed Moncada, who is a peculiar involvement as he has won a poker title in the past.
Joey Krug has stated that he always fancied playing poker with the crypto freaks and he is elated now to be able to do that, especially given that is for a noble cause of charity. OKCoin's Jason Lau also noted that it a battle now between Covid-19 and crypto and he's delighted to play a part and add to valuable charities which are fighting this battle. Litecoin's founder Charlie Lee has chipped in too and said that he would make a donation too, provided he wins anything.
Dave Nage from Arca had a hilarious response and tweeted :
