After being banned on <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/crypto/ton-investors-votes-against-refund-for-telegrams-gram-tokens/">Telegram</a> due to terrorism concerns, the ISIS is now testing another blockchain app. Basically, the new app is expected to serve as another medium for the group to continue with its propaganda messages.

According to the <a href="https://decrypt.co/14767/isis-co-opts-blockchain-to-issue-propaganda-after-telegram-ban">report</a> today, ISIS, which stands for 'Islamic State of Iraq and Syria,' found a more favorable environment with BCM for its activities. 

BCM, which means "Because Communication Matters," provides security, anonymous communication, security, ability to send cryptos globally, and a tamper-proof repository for beheading videos.

As reported, the features make it an ideal platform for ISIS, yet a difficult platform to be detected by law enforcement agencies. Hence, if adoption by ISIS, could reinforce the group with there illicit acts.

Brenna Smith, a researcher on disinformation and the illicit use of digital currencies comments on the development:

"The app's core features of anonymity, encryption, and large group-chat sizes also pose a great risk for adoption. [...] Extremists covet technologies that can get there message out to thousands, all while concealing there identity."
<h2>Return of ISIS?</h2>
The blockchain app, BCM, meanwhile, adds to the list of messaging applications already tried by ISIS, all in an effort to find an ideal platform to execute their operations. Most of them include Hoop, RocketChat, TamTam, and Riot. 

In this course, BCM appears to have won the contest, as the blockchain app strictly encrypts every message on its platform. The encrypted messages cannot be deciphered by any third party, per the report.

An ex-CIA counterterrorism analyst, Yaya Fanuise, added; "It would be troubling if BCM truly allows content and communication that can not be disrupted or blocked by a third party."

Previously, Telegram served as a platform for ISIS and other terrorist groups carry out their propaganda acts. However, in August, reports on this matter were sent to CEO, Pavel Durov, after which, an international law enforcement agency closed down all accounts and channels operated by ISIS on Telegram.
