A hacker group which goes by the name of REvil has <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-52632729" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hacked </a>the law firm in New York which represents elusive personality such as Madonna and Lady Gaga.

Grubman Shire Meiselas and Sacks is the law firm and holds a huge amount of data, almost 750 gigabytes including the personal details of its prominent clients. The firm released a press note stating that their customers have been informed and they're looking into the matter and have been in touch with the best experts to offer them a way through.

 The display of the companies logo is still visible on the platform And REvil hackers posted a screenshot of contract and email details of Madonna. Sir Elton John, the legendary singer, and basketball big gun LeBron James is also part of the list of big names the law firm has on board.
<h2>REvil Turning to Monero to Make Tracking More Difficult</h2>
The hacking team planned an attack on Travelex, the UK based firm had to pay $2.3 million in bitcoin. REvil soon after decided Monero is a better bet than bitcoin and announced that they will now <a href="https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/sodinokibi-ransomware-to-stop-taking-bitcoin-to-hide-money-trail/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">receive </a>payment in Monero.

Analyst at Brett Callow has stated that these firms have no choice but to give in to the demands else they risk the leaking of public information. The task for law agencies to track their payments would be much difficult now as Monero offers way better privacy than bitcoin.

Monero has been the go-to choice of activities like these as people are not much aware of how it operates. It would be interesting to see if the law company makes the payment to REvil in Monero.  Cyber attacks such as these have grown remarkably lately and it is definitely a sign of concern. Like many before them, it seems the law firm would give in to the demands of the hackers given so many big names reputations and details are on the line.
