A new digital entertainment studio Omnific Blockchain Studios will develop and produce entertainment-related non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and digital goods in Hong Kong.
<h2><strong>Launching Entertainment-Focused NFT</strong></h2>
Award-winning production company Phoenix Waters Productions has partnered with tech companies Marvion and Coinllectibles to <a href="https://variety.com/2021/digital/asia/omnific-blockchain-studio-launches-1235107197/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">launch</a> a digital entertainment studio, Omnific Blockchain Studios (OBS) in Hong Kong.

The first project will be Marvion's Music Monarch, an NFT-only music competition where artists around the world will have their works curated on the blockchain for viewers to vote through the use of NFTs.

Phoenix Waters founder and CEO Bizhan Tong are leaving his role at Hong Kong-based AMM Global, a unit of former Hong Kong broadcaster Asia Television to head the new venture.

Omnific Blockchain Studios will also develop “Karma,” a crime film comprised of multiple interlinked short stories from across the globe, to be curated entirely on the blockchain. This will involve filmmakers in the U.S., U.K., Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and Korea, with the short film and feature films being made available as NFTs alongside digital goods and tokens.
<h2><strong>Releasing Movies as NFTs</strong></h2>
Movie theatre chain <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/amc-theatres-considers-accepting-shiba-inu-as-payment-for-movie-tickets/">AMC Entertainment Holdings</a> Inc. announced today that it’s exploring creating its own cryptocurrency and that they are talking with Hollywood studios about creating commemorative nonfungible tokens, or NFTs, related to major films.

Earlier last week, Quentin Tarantino <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/quentin-tarantino-will-release-7-uncut-scenes-from-pulp-fiction-as-nfts/">announced</a> auctioning seven uncut scenes from Pulp Fiction as NFTs in addition to auctioning a few original handwritten scripts from the 1994 movie along with exclusive audio commentary from Tarantino himself.
