Nike, the world's leading sportswear brand and PVH Corp Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, HermanKay, and retailers Kohl's and Macy's took part in a blockchain proof of concept (POC) by using RFID tags for keeping an eye on products in the supply chain.

The companies mentioned above were involved in the first phase of the project, which was successful in its integration of serialized data streams right from the off, when the products got manufactured till it reached the retail party, eliminating any sort of ambiguity and providing crystal clarity. The PoC for the CHIP (CHain Integration Project) initiative was run by Auburn University's RFID Lab, which also issued a <a href="http://info.rfid.auburn.edu/chip-proof-of-concept-results" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">whitepaper</a> for it. Auburn noted that these companies provided data streams from the various chain, for the whole of 2019.

<h2>RFID Tastes Decent Success in First Attempt</h2>

Via the RFID systems, the PoC was able to capture almost 642,612 items, and approximately 1/3rd were written to the blockchain. The main project's purpose was to serve as a platform for participants to keep an eye on the standard information and provide end-to-end transparency.

DNA tagging was the tool used by Microsoft when it worked with ConsenSys to verify the product's authenticity.
