Online tech retail company, Newegg will now accept Dogecoin (DOGE) as an official payment method, according to a press <a href="https://www.newegg.com/global/in-en/d/Info/NewsroomDetail?ID=1944&amp;Type=3&amp;cm_mmc=snc-twitter-_-pr-dogecoin-bitpay-_-na-_-041921" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">release</a>. The e-retailer giant has been crypto-friendly in the past as well. Back in 2014, Newegg allowed its customers to shop with Bitcoin becoming one of the first major retailers in the world to embrace the new asset class.
<h2><strong>Newegg Now Accepting Dogecoin as Payment</strong></h2>
Major e-retailer company Newegg has announced that its customers can now shop using Dogecoin (DOGE) cryptocurrency for making purchases on the platform via BitPay. Back in 2014, Newegg was one of the major retailers in the world to accept Bitcoin as a payment method.

Dogecoin is only the second cryptocurrency to be accepted by the Los Angeles-based company. Similarly, Newegg is among the first e-retail company to enable customers to pay with Dogecoin while shopping online.

The 20-year-old company has a global presence, operating in North America, as well as in Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and the Middle East.

<h2><strong>DOGE Continues Gaining Mainstream Support</strong></h2>
Prior to the official announcement, the company’s Twitter profile hinted at accepting the Shiba-Inu-based cryptocurrency on the social media platform. Taking the best on the meme nature of Dogecoin, Newegg also tweeted out to Elon Musk, a DOGE <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/dogecoin-jumps-new-height-following-elon-musk-tweet/">supporter</a> asking if he would buy on the platform.
