The European Central Bank (ECB) has in the last few days announced new measures that are designed to stimulate the economy within the Eurozone. The <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/crypto/imf-head-christine-lagarde-appointment-as-president-of-the-european-central-bank-could-foster-crypto-growth-in-europe/">institution is mandated with the job of setting monetary policies</a> in around 19 countries which make up the Eurozone. With the economy slowing in nearly all of them, the ECB has decided to cut interest rates and stimulate the economies. It has further warned governments that the region could be headed for a recession and immediate action is needed to help stimulate economic growth.

The new measures will see the European Central Bank cut interest rates by -0.1. This will see the interest rate go to -0.5 from -0.4. This will almost immediately see bank customers see their money earn them less interest. It will also see high-value assets such as real estate, go to the roof as demand for them increases. This happens as many people will prefer investing in assets which have a higher earning percentage than the bank's interests. This will be further fueled by the fact that the European Central Bank has also eased lending terms to encourage borrowing and investing.

The announcement almost immediately got the attention of U.S President Donald Trump who hit at the ECB. In a tweet, <a href="https://www.ft.com/content/9b2c29c0-d53d-11e9-a0bd-ab8ec6435630">the president accused Europe of depreciating the Euro</a> in order to compete with the "strong" dollar. He further went on to even take a dig at the FED:

<h3>Bitcoin The Safe Haven Asset In The Eurozone</h3>
While many analysts may disagree with Trump about the status of the dollar, there is no denying what is going on in the Eurozone. The region's growth has rapidly decreased and there is the concern of a looming recession. And just like the institutions have done in the past years, they will print out more money and devalue the currency.

This latest cut sees the ECB set a new record low. This is in part because the ECB is also shielding itself from a no-deal Brexit which will hurt the region.
