Lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret has filed several trademark applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office indicating its intention to enter the metaverse.

According to trademark attorney Josh Gerben, Victoria's Secret has filed for four applications for selling products such as 'virtual undergarments, footwear, and fashion accessories,' in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

In addition to digital items, the lingerie brand will also offer <em>“information, photos, images, videos, recorded footage, highlights, and experiences in the field of fashion, clothing, fashion accessories, and style.”</em></blockquote>
The company also plans to organize virtual fashion shows in the future.
<h3><strong>Major Brands Cashing on the NFT Boom</strong></h3>
A slew of fashion brands such as Gucci, Adidas, Ralph Lauren, H&amp;M, Louis Vuitton, Prada, and NIKE have already joined the metaverse realm to offer merchandise in a virtual setting.

Apart from luxury brands, fast-food retailers such as McDonald’s also filed applications last week to open virtual restaurants in the metaverse. Similarly, American bakery chain Panera Bread also applied to open virtual stores in the metaverse including Walmart filing several new trademarks in December 2021 for the same.
