Yuga Labs, the founder of the well-known non-fungible token (NFT) project Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), has collaborated with Guy Oseary, the founder of the media management firm Maverick.
Britney Spears, Doja Cat, Kim Petras, The Weeknd, and Madonna are some of his clients.
“Many people still have not heard of Yuga, yet they are one of the highest-grossing talents of the year from any art form, including music and film,” said Guy Oseary in a statement. "The Apes at Yuga Labs and I have a lot of exciting initiatives for the community and we look forward to sharing them soon.”
After the signing of CryptoPunks creators Larva Labs with the large talent agency United Talent Agency in late August 2021, BAYC is the second NFT initiative to sign with mainstream Hollywood representation this year.
Oseary's interest in BAYC is yet another sign that NFTs are moving from an online niche to increasing application.
In terms of trading volume, BAYC, which debuted in April of this year, is one of the most prominent NFT initiatives.
At its climax in August, this collection of 10,000 algorithmically generated apes sold for $132.24 million. The project now has a floor price of 37 ETH on the NFT marketplace OpenSea (129,000).
“We’re excited to work with Guy Oseary to bring the Bored Ape Yacht Club to a broader sphere,” said Yuga Labs in a statement. “We have many ambitious projects in the works and we’re thankful to have Guy’s expertise as we move the club into this new chapter, for the benefit of the entire BAYC community.”
